Hidden Hearing Releases Sounds We Miss the Most For World Hearing Day

World Hearing Day is fast approaching on the 3rd of March, a day to raise awareness around how to prevent and address hearing loss. A recent study by Hidden Hearing, Northern Ireland’s leading provider of hearing healthcare showed laughing with friends (96%) and catching up with family (93%) are the two sounds that almost all Irish adults are looking forward to hearing after lockdown.

After a year which has felt muted for most people, 88% have missed the sound of catch ups with friends in a café during the Covid-19 lockdown period, nearly 7 in 10 (68%) have missed the sound of a busy pub full of conversation and over 1 in 3 (32%) adults said they have missed the sweet sound of music playing in a theatre.

“It has been a tough year for everyone, but the end is in sight and we are all thinking about what we are going to experience when the restrictions lift. Studies show 1 in 2 adults know someone that has experienced hearing loss, so we are encouraging those who are worried about their hearing to book in for a free test now to be ready for the world when it reopens”, says Dolores Madden, Audiologist & Marketing Director at Hidden Hearing.

Hidden Hearing have just announced the launch of Oticon More in Northern Ireland, the world’s first hearing aid which gives the brain full perspective with access to all relevant sounds. The hearing aid uses the latest advancements in technology to enable users to hear and experience more with a new approach to sound processing. This comes as 7% of adults surveyed have experienced hearing loss in the last year while 8 in 10 would go for a hearing test. To celebrate World Hearing Day 2021, Hidden Hearing will be offering 15%* off the cost of a pair of hearing devices for a limited time only.
